Lil Wayne Goes Platinum

Lil Weezey hit another milestone:

In this music industry where albums are on a steady decline, rapper Lil Wayne has managed to go platinum in his very first week of having his third solo album, The Carter III. The album sold 1,005,545 units since its July 10th release according to AllHipHop.

Personally listening to his new album I felt it fell short of this hype. Don't get me wrong there are a few songs that I do enjoy, but in my opinion just a few is not going to cut it. Especially when all the tracks on The Carter II are bangers. The tracks on this new album are safe songs aimed towards the radio and a few quirky cuts that feature Wayne’s bizarre sense of humor and inflated opinion of his rap skills.

I agree with the fact that the Carter III was not too hot. It wasn't better than Da Drought III or The Leak...so in essence, I didn't like it. I actually felt he provoked the million by making that weak song Lollipop. It's a party song, but it's definitely gonna sell to those suburban white kids; and I don't feel that that's really Wayne, ya know.
