Red Carpet Do's and Dont's

These two are definitely DONT'S. What the hell were they thinking. Keyshia Cole and Rihanna thinking? They look a species of birds.

I swear she always does this crap. She shows up to an event and looks like something out of coloring book. Sometimes being different doesn't work.

This guy is a joke. Take all those accessories off. It's too damn hot outside for all that.

No comment for this outfit.

2008 BET Awards

Yes black people it's that time of the year again. Yes I'm talking about the "PRESTIGIOUS" BET Awards. I intentionally did not change the channel just so I can share this wonderful experience. Just like any other performance there were highs and lows. Where shall I start? How about with the performances

PERFORMANCES
Usher-He kicked off the night with a so-so performance. On a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best I'll give him a 3.

Ne-Yo-
Honestly I didn't get to see all of his performance, because I had my dog had to poop.

Keyshia Cole-
As we all know the girl has no rhythm what so ever. She CAN NOT sing live so her vocals were all messed up.

Young Jeezy-
Now I love Jeezy but this performance was sub par. The best part was when Kanye came out. But I swear if I hear another voice alteration in a song, I'm going to go crazy.

Alicia Keys-
Hands down the second best performance of the night. She looked absolutely amazing, this is why she is a hottie. She celebrated with some of thte best girl groups such as SWV, ENVOUGE, and TLC.

T-Pain-
The only reason why his performance was good was because of all the damn other artists in the song. The circus thing was cool too.

Marvin Sapp-
Now I'm not a huge fan of Gospel, but I know a good song when I hear it. Third best performance of the night.

Chris Brown-
The water effects and when Ciara came out was the highlight of that performance.

Rihanna-
She single handedly had the worst performance of the night. Take a bow with that crap.

Nelly-
Honestly that was my first time EVER hearing that damn shoe song. Fuckin Furgie.

Lil Wayne-
If I was in the audience, I would asking myself is this thing over yet?

Al Green-
The BEST performance of the night. Even though he called the event The Academy BET Awards. Maxwell did a tribute to Al Green as did Anthony Hamilton and Jill Scott. But Maxwell killed that joint.

Another Hip-Hop Beef (Or lack of)

There is nothing like a good ol' beef between two rappers. But here is one that you probably have never thought of. Ice-t and Soulja Boy? This is no joke now these two really do have a beef with one another . You are probably thinking to yourself....why? I have been asking myself the same question for a pretty long time.

This is how it all started...Ice-T said in an interview that Soulja Boy is the murderer of Hip Hop. Now personally I wouldn't say the fella murdered Hip Hop, but he is most definitely is an accomplice. Here's the rest of what Ice-T said...“Fu*k Soulja Boy! Eat a dick! This ni*ga single handedly killed Hip Hop. That sh*t is such garbage man. We came all the way from Rakim, we came all the way from Das EFX, we came all the way from motherfu*kers flowing like Big Daddy Kane and Ice Cube, and you come with that Superman sh*t?

But to make this beef even better you know Soulja Boy had to tell'em a response...with a video of course...http://www.livesteez.com/videos/watch/zb7TI5H.
The stuff he says in here is classic quotable lines to be remembered.

And again Ice-T made his response also in video form...http://www.livesteez.com/videos/watch/T2MeIrP.

Now I expect for Soulja Boy to make one more response and this dumb ass beef should be over with. But the hing that gets me is that Ice-T is responding to this crap. The point of this story is that...I really don't know to be honest with you. Both of these fools need to stop it. This is not worthy of any type of beef. That's what's really good.

A Vogue First

In the upcoming issue of Vogue Magazine Mr. Meisel has photographed nothing but Black models. In a reverse of the general pattern of fashion magazines, all the faces are black, and all the feature topics are related to black women in the arts and entertainment. Mr. Meisel was given roughly 100 pages for his pictures. The issue will be on European newsstands next Thursday and in the United States soon after.”

I am really quite impressed, proud, and shocked at the same time to see such a major and bold change. I am pretty sure that this is to piss off a few subscribers, but who really cares. Now that we could potentially have a very first Black president I guess everyone and there mama wants to jump on the Black bandwagon, LOL, just kidding. But I don't blame one bit, it's never to late.

Lil Wayne Goes Platinum

Lil Weezey hit another milestone:

In this music industry where albums are on a steady decline, rapper Lil Wayne has managed to go platinum in his very first week of having his third solo album, The Carter III. The album sold 1,005,545 units since its July 10th release according to AllHipHop.

Personally listening to his new album I felt it fell short of this hype. Don't get me wrong there are a few songs that I do enjoy, but in my opinion just a few is not going to cut it. Especially when all the tracks on The Carter II are bangers. The tracks on this new album are safe songs aimed towards the radio and a few quirky cuts that feature Wayne’s bizarre sense of humor and inflated opinion of his rap skills.

Stereotypes

As a young boy, the word lazy meant exactly what it meant, but once I grew older and moved to the south, that word took on a whole new meaning. The words that I have chosen are not only common stereotypes amongst black people. They are also the words that I myself have come across in my lifetime.

The words on the forehead are written in marker. They are not to be taken literal. They should be taken in a more serious way. I am redefining the stereotypes amongst black people and shedding much needed light that these stereotypes are just words. Words that can be simply be erased just like the words on the foreheads.

For this project words were my source of inspiration. Just one word can bring on a whole new meaning, especially when that word is associated with stereotypes.
